There was a combined chaplaincy meeting yesterday, where all the societies (mainly christians) gathered together once a year to worship God. The preacher was preaching about the church in the 21st century. His central theme was change, as in the church has to change in order the younger generation will not miss out God;s love.
IT WAS AMAZING.
TOTALLY EYE-OPENING.
In fact, i feel that i am very inclined to whatever he preached, of how God is NOT calling us to greatness, but to smallness.
Powerful isnt it.
And he stressed that change is as much a biblical thing, and holding on the the old (or false security) would only destroy the church. "Reading old maps in the new world." Try taking a 1980 map of KL and driving according to it, can be a real shocker.
I managed to get hold of the slides he presented, but they are only bits and pieces of what he preached (an hour++ actually, rather long considered to the usual sermons in the church). I will also try to request a softcopy version, or any related articles of sort and all this will go to Uncle Kevin or Uncle Bennie or Ps Thomas.
